A Champaign County man is facing child pornography charges.
A tip from Snapchat to the Illinois Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force kick-started the investigation into Cecil A. Kimble, 22, of Philo.
Two University Police detectives are members of that task force.
The tip received in April was that someone had uploaded a pornographic video to the social media app.
The social media account was owned by Kimble.
When authorities searched the account they found evidence of 28 additional files depicting apparent child pornography.
They also discovered two non-pornographic videos of young women checking out at the register of the Philo, Illinois convenience store where Kimble works.
Authorities believe they were secretly recorded from behind the store’s beverage coolers and focused on the women’s buttocks.
Kimble was arrested for possession of child pornography.
He is now at the Champaign County Jail.
